Pegasus VI 2024Pegasus VI was a two-stage rocket that was constructed for the 2024 Argonia Cup challenge. The challenge was to launch a two-stage rocket containing any number of golf balls as a payload in the sustainer to the highest altitude possible.
Pegasus VI had one launch at Michiana Rocketry's primary launch site in Three Oaks, MI on April 6, 2024. While we were able to successfully recover the entire sustainer without damage to the vehicle, the booster failed to deploy its parachute. The booster and booster electronics were a complete loss, but the booster parachute survived. Pegasus VI will be launched again on December 7, 2024 as a tester for Pegasus VII's flight computers. |
Pegasus V 2023Pegasus V was a single-stage rocket that was launched at the Argonia Cup competition in Argonia, KS. The challenge was to launch a two-stage rocket containing one golf ball payload in the sustainer to a sustainer altitude in excess of 9,000' AGL and to recover the payload safely to a predetermined location on the range.
Since Pegasus V was built as a single-stage rocket, it did not fly in competition and only launched for experience. |
